Art Space Youth Camp 2024

Every June and July, RCA hosts its flagship summer program ArtSpace: Summer Art Explorations for Kids & Teens.  Local children entering grades 1-8 in the upcoming school year are able to attend a full week of art camp for free.  During the week we expose children to as many art media as can fit into a week including drawing, painting, mixed media, collage and even pottery!  We will also be offering the Culinary Arts with Young Chef and Dance Camps with Ballet and Break Dancing! We ask that you register for only one week of camp, as many local families want to be involved in ArtSpace. This summer will be the 27th annual summer season.

How to Register

STEP 1:
Read below information

Will have several camps to choose from: Visual Arts, Young Chef, Ballet, and Break Dancing!!

STEP 2:
Pick One Week: there are 4 weeks to select from
June 17-21, Monday-Friday
June 24-28, Monday-Friday
July 15-19, Monday-Friday
July 22-26, Monday-Friday

STEP 3:
Pick One Time Slot: there are options for each grade, select your child’s 2024-2025 grade
9:00 am – 12:00 pm
K– 2nd graders
3rd – 5th graders
6th - 8th graders
1:30 pm – 4:30 pm
K – 2nd graders
3rd – 5th graders
6th – 8th graders

The goals of this program are to teach children to: be sensitive to the art around them; recognize the basic elements, principles and vocabulary of art; challenge imaginations through reflective thinking; develop and organize ideas; creatively express thoughts and ideas through performance; develop disciplined effort and problem-solving skills; produce works of art using a variety of art materials and tools; produce works of art using both traditional and innovative techniques; and make informed judgments about personal artworks and those of others, and to build self-esteem.
