All Plein Air painters are invited to capture the beauty of the RCA Campus every Second Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to noon during the popular Austin Street Art Walk. Choose from a variety of inspiring subjects—sculpture, architecture, market scenes, or people—and enjoy the opportunity to sell your work directly to the public that same day.
Each session will feature a skilled guest artist painting on-site, offering a valuable chance to observe and learn from experienced outdoor painters. Join us in this dynamic and engaging addition to an already thriving monthly event..
June 13 - Barb Robinson, 2017 Rockport Art Festival Master Artist.
Through her work, Barb Robinson invites you to a world you would like to be in. In the style of the impressionists-paint and color are the elements and brushwork creates the atmosphere.
Barb believes that a painting must enrich the environment whether it is your home or workplace and make a connection with the viewer and his feelings.
Her approach is direct, starting with a tinted canvas or panel and a rough composition, which she adjusts as she paints. At times she feels the need to investigate the story that the painting itself begins to tell.
Barb specialized in Art at the University of Iowa but has spent most of her life in Texas- from the Hill Country to the Coast. Don’t miss this opportunity to observe Barb painting on location at Rockport Center for the Arts Campus.
