Where Creativity Comes To Life — In The Studio And The Kitchen!

Rockport Center for the Arts’ Young Chefs + Visual Arts Afterschool Program is a donor-supported program provided FREE of charge to local youth, giving students the opportunity to explore both the visual and culinary arts in one creative afterschool experience.

Every participating student gets to do it all! In the art studios, students explore painting, drawing, sculpture, clay and a variety of other media and techniques designed to develop artistic skills, encourage self-expression and foster creativity. In the kitchen, Young Chefs combines food science with the culinary arts through hands-on instruction that introduces students to healthy eating, nutrition, food and culture, and cooking with fresh, economical ingredients.

Together, the two programs give students opportunities to create, experiment, learn and discover—whether they’re holding a paintbrush, working with clay or preparing something delicious in the kitchen.

Classes are Held 4 Days a Week

Monday - Thursday

3:45-5:30

6 week sessions

Session 1: August 31-September 8

Session 2: October 13-November 19 (SESSION FULL)

Session 3: January 11-February 18

Session 4: February 22-April 8

3 week mini sessions

Mini Session 1: November 30-December 17

Mini Session 2: April 12-April 29

Students can only sign up for ONE session

*School Holidays are not included in the Visual Arts Schedule
