“Waiting on the Waves” Paint Along - Acrylic

Class Description:
This class is fun and non-traditional! All painting supplies are included. Each participant will paint a 16X20 painting on canvas using fluorescent acrylic paint! The paintings will be black light sensitive, adding even more fun to the experience. Designed for beginners, but this class is great for any level. Sue believes, "if people have fun and relax, they can paint well." Students may bring their beverage of choice along with snacks. Acrylic paint is difficult to remove from fabric so dress accordingly or bring a smock or apron.
About the Instructor:
Painting is more than something I do, it's part of who I am. I studied Studio Art at the University of California and hold a degree in Commercial Art. I have put this experience plus my time spent on the water, traveling and life in general to create my art. I always study an animal or subject well before I begin to draw it as I value accuracy in my work. Being a Rockport, Texas, resident for over 27 years have given me an opportunity to paint and enjoy this beautiful area.
My art was selected for Rockport Fulton Hummer Bird Festival, Port Aransas Whooping Crane Festival and Rockport Fulton Seafair t-shirts. I really enjoy seeing my work on t-shirts on people as they walk around town.
My work can also be seen on the Rockport Cultural Arts District street signs. These green and blue signs feature a Whooping Crane with uplifted wings. This signifies to me the new and uplifting ideas of the cultural arts district as it works to continue to make Rockport a truly unique and creative town! I am a member of the Rockport Center for the Arts and often have one of my works on display in the member's gallery.
