Millicent Alvarado - Sculptor
Millicent Alvarado brings a fairytale-like vision to life through intricate works in paper and felt. A Corpus Christi–based artist born in 2000, Alvarado began her journey with a fascination for origami, evolving into meticulously layered sculptures that serve as both meditative practice and expressive storytelling.
Her works balance playfulness with profound personal reflection, offering viewers a chance to glimpse her thoughts and emotions made tangible. Drawing inspiration from 1960s and 70s poster art and fashion, Alvarado infuses her pieces with bright colors and bold shapes, often transforming everyday objects into symbolic, dreamlike narratives. Despite her youth, her artistry has already been recognized through exhibitions at Presa House Gallery in San Antonio, the Art Center of Corpus Christi, and as a collaborating artist for Meow Wolf Houston.
