Class Description:
A Creative, Hands-On Experience for All Skill Levels
Join us for a relaxing and creative two-hour pottery class focused on the beautiful art of sgraffito—a technique where you carve through a dark glaze to reveal the white clay beneath, creating striking, high-contrast designs.
This workshop is perfect for adults of all skill levels, from total beginners to seasoned potters looking for a fresh, low-pressure project. Each participant will receive a platter to decorate with their own design, plus a small dish to practice on first. Whether you want to freehand your artwork, use your own stencil, or choose from one of our provided cutters for inspiration, you’ll have everything you need to create something uniquely yours.
We’ll provide hands-on instruction, examples for guidance, and all tools and materials. Once complete, your piece will be finished with a clear glaze and fired—making it both food safe and dishwasher safe. You’ll be able to take your platter home within 2–3 weeks, ready to display or use.
Come get your hands dirty and leave with something beautiful—no experience needed.
Artist Bio: Megan Stewart is a passionate ceramic artist and instructor with years of experience working in both functional and decorative pottery. She specializes in approachable techniques that invite creativity at all skill levels, from beginners to seasoned makers. Megan’s classes focus on building confidence through hands-on practice, with an emphasis on thoughtful design and craftsmanship. Her goal is to help each participant discover their unique artistic voice through clay.
