Sally Mitchell is a local member artist. Those who frequent our galleries should be familiar with Sally's regular contributions to the Members Galleries in various medias, but this one-person Garden Gallery show will be a great opportunity for visitors to see a selection of her photographic work.

The annual all-member exhibition highlights our family of artists and provides a chance to stand out as a Merit Artist the following year. An invited juror will chose five Merit Artists, and a sixth is selected by popular vote.

Chispa's brings prime examples of her magical realism in the form of triptic alter pieces. Dramatic abstract landscapes counterpoise Chispa's magical realism alter pieces. This show will include drawings as well as oils on both canvas and paper.

ROCKPORT,TX. Last summer Jorge Alegría brought six unusual yet powerful drawings to the Merit Artists group exhibit and connected with collectors from different parts of Texas. That success led to his solo show Heaven in the Garden Gallery. 

Once again 6 outstanding Member Artists make up this year's Merit Show: Standing Out. Joe Pena, Assistant Professor of Painting at Texas A&M University, Corpus Christi selected artists for this year's group exhibit at the Rockport Center for the Arts.

Blazek's solo exhibition opens Saturday, June 18 and continues through July 30, 2016. A signature painting will be chosen as the image of the 2016 Rockport Art Festival poster, which will debut at the reception. Blazek will be signing copies of the poster at the reception.

Each year an outstanding artist is selected for a solo exhibition during the summer, and creates the signature "poster piece" which becomes the official poster of the Rockport Art Festival. The original artwork that inspires the poster is auctioned off as the final item of the Live Auction during the Art Auction Party, preceding the Annual Art Art Festival.

Barnebey is known for her acutely painted transparent watercolors and she has exhibited in hundreds of shows and galleries throughout Texas.

Every year RCA hosts a statewide juried exhibition for undergraduate and graduate students emerging in the visual arts.

For three decades, Renate Kasper has worked in a wide variety of media including acrylic, oil, watercolor, pastel, Prismacolor pencil, black & white infrared photography and clay. 

Seabrook artist, Vorakit Chinookoswong, known as V. Chin, has been crafting fine porcelain and stoneware pieces for over 30 years. A veteran of art festivals and gallery shows throughout Texas, Chin creates glossy stoneware vases, bowls, cups, and other pieces bearing his signature mark: a clay frog. Striving for a balance between aesthetics and function, Chin's goal is to create "good" ceramics. His subtle glazing adds an extraordinary level of elegance to his pottery.

Bob Lockhart, One of Kentucky's Most Influential Artists, Commences Residency at Rockport Center for the Arts

Her first solo show in ten years, Anita Diebel and Rockport Center of the Arts present Wing Songs.  About the exhibition, Diebel remarked it is "a celebration of the avian wonders that abound in my world.  

Friends, family, and collectors of the late Herb Booth honor his extraordinary talent by sharing collected masterworks in the Rockport Center for the Arts' Garden Gallery.  

Ed Boyd creates amazing and unique art from vinyl. While working at a sign shop in 2003, he became intrigued by the scraps left over from the sign making process.

Each December, five artists are chosen by a distinguished juror from the all-member show, Currents, to debut new work. One additional artist is chosen by the people. Standing Out: The Merit Artist 2015, will open with a gallery talk August 8th at 4:30 PM.
