Every year RCA hosts a statewide juried exhibition for undergraduate and graduate students emerging in the visual arts. Prize winners are awarded to the top three artworks and selected by an invited juror: $500 First Prize, $300 Second Prize, and $200 Third Prize. Honorable Mentions may be awarded at the juror's discretion.

The annual all-member exhibition highlights our family of artists and provides a chance to stand out as a Merit Artist the following year. An invited juror will chose five Merit Artists, and a sixth is selected by popular vote.

Chance Yarbrough grew up in Waco, Texas. He began hunting and fishing with his Dad from a very early age. He has always had an interest and natural talent for art, even as a young child.

The 2013 Merit Artists are selected from the previous All-Member Show (Currents). Five are selected by an invited juror, and one by popular vote. All six artists display new work for the exhibition.

Bonnie Lou Prouty was Art Director at Rockport Center for the Arts when the very first Art Festival poster was created in 1993.

2013 Resident Artists Judith Selby and Richard Lang collect plastic from a small beach in Northern California, making colorful and intriguing works of art out of the pieces they find.

Mimi Braniff has been part of the Rockport Art Center family since 1999. She was featured as a Merit Artist in 2001, in both Aransas Artists for Nature exhibitions (in 2005 and 2008) and was designated as one of Texas's Ten Best Craftspersons in 2005.

Well known and admired in the Texas Coastal Bend, artist Steve Russell's unique approach to painting is unmatched by any other Rockport-area artist, inspired by extensive travel and a burning curiosity for Texas history.

Born in Anchorage, Alaska, Lindsey Dunnagan eventually moved to Texas and received a Bachelor of Environmental Design Architecture from Texas A&M in 2007.  

Austin-based Ryan McKerley's work has been exhibited all over the U.S., and is known for his water carving technique that mimics erosion, resulting in unique patterns resembling organic geometry and abstract design.

The Art Center's first senior Artist in Residence, Ewoud de Groot shows current work after spending three weeks in Rockport.

Tami Bone grew up in deep South Texas where she spent a childhood oftentimes free and driven by her imagination. Her photographic work today pulls from these early beginnings, calling forth yearnings, hopes, fears and dreams that make their way into her narrative images.

John Skarda is known for his large, super-colored graphic portraits of fish. Originally from Houston, Skarda is now based in Rockport and represented by St. Charles Gallery.
